Alves de Sousa In 2007, the acquisition of Quinta da Oliveirinha marked the beginning of a new cycle. Twelve hectares of vineyards fully classified as Letra A – the highest grading for Port wine production – sit precisely in the “heart” of the region, naturally predisposed to producing great Ports. The combination of Oliveirinha’s extreme conditions and vigor with the freshness and elegance achieved in Gaivosa was more than natural; it was perfect. The result was the first Vintage Port to carry the Alves de Sousa name, Code ECV: 82‑1. Awards: Gold medal at the Berlinier Wine Trophy competition, gold medal at the Decanter Wine World Award, gold medal at the International Wine Challenge.
