This Dão António, hailing from vines with a history that feels older than we are, is a delightful reminder that tradition can still pack a serious punch. Bright citrus and green apple notes, courtesy of the Alvarinho and Mencome grapes, are beautifully balanced by a wonderfully assertive acidity – perhaps echoing the slopes of the Lizão mountain range. A truly impressive wine, it deserves a spot alongside a perfectly grilled fish or a roasted chicken with mushrooms. And, of course, that silver medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition certainly adds to the appeal!
