This Ataíde Semedo, anchored by Touriga Nacional, immediately transports you to ripe red berries – think fresh cherries – with a subtle hint of dark chocolate reflecting the terroir. There’s a restrained spice and cedar note, a consequence of the aging in oak, adding welcome complexity. Despite achieving 17.5 points in *Revista de Vinhos*, the finish could benefit from a bit more length, but its elegant and consistent structure makes it a reliably good wine – as they say, “well-connected.” It’s particularly lovely paired with grilled beef.
