The bottles of aged wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is in line with their age. The National Wine Cellar is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but always opts to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We conduct a selection of brands/regions that, as a rule, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of aged wines. However, we inform that wine is a living organism that, when exposed to time, even within a bottle, aromas are subject to different evolutions. Thus, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product quality, given that it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine air out beforehand, as this will help release its natural aromas after so many years closed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, ensure you do so patiently to detect the appearance of sediment that, typically, an old wine tends to produce. (illustrative image)
