Founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal has enjoyed a long journey, establishing itself as one of Portugal's most innovative wine producers. The company began by producing wines from grapes grown in the Palmela region. During the 1980s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal began its expansion, acquiring properties across the country and setting new standards in the production of quality wines. Quinta da Garrida is located in Vila Nova de Tázem and has a total area of 112 hectares, of which 80 hectares are 15-year-old vineyards, with the remaining area consisting of new plantings made using the most modern techniques. The soils are granitic, light, and poor, allowing the production of wines with the prized characteristics typical of the region.
