This deeply coloured wine, born from Georgian Saperavi grapes cultivated across the traditional microzones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli in Kakheti, evokes a sense of good fortune – ‘Bedoba’ translates to ‘Lucky Day’. Inspired by the Konchosvili family’s 1737 winemaking legacy, this bottling honours a long-standing relationship with the church, referencing the family’s connection to the ‘koncho’ (cross). Maturation involved a blend of 50% Saperavi aged in stainless steel, 25% in 5000-litre oak vats, and 18% in 225-litre American oak barrels, alongside a small portion fermented in traditional qvevri. The result is a richly textured wine, brimming with dark berry spice and a wonderfully intense expression of the Caucasus’ sun-drenched terroir.
