This Bella Superior, born from the granite soils of the Dão, is a rather dramatic tribute to ‘noble granite’ – and perhaps a nod to the ‘rotten granite’ that shaped it. Grown across 25 hectares with Touriga Nacional and Sauvignon Blanc leading the charge at an altitude of 380 metres, this wine benefits from a microclimate seemingly perfected over centuries. Close to the Dão river, it maintains the moisture needed, while its northern location near Viseu injects unexpected aromatic notes. It’s a wine with a strong character, as many have noted, and pairs beautifully with game meats.
