Beyra is a wine that delivers the complexity and elegance typical of the high‑altitude white wines of the Beira Interior, a character achievable only with very old vines. The grapes come from vines planted on argillic‑xistoso soils, averaging 80 years, on the Beira Interior plateau within the Douro River basin, in the heart of the International Douro Natural Park, above 750 m altitude. A selection of native varieties – Fonte Cal, Rabo de Ovelha and Síria – perfectly adapted to altitude, is blended in varying percentages each year. Harvested by hand into small 15‑kg perforated boxes, the grapes are pressed gently without crushing or destemming to preserve all aromatic potential. Every pre‑fermentative step is carried out with utmost rigor, ensuring the wine’s intrinsic quality and safeguarding the primary aromas. Fermentation and maturation occur in used French oak barrels, with fine lees stirring until the wine is bottled. Awarded the Grande Prémio “Escolha da Imprensa.”
