Beyra Superior Branco

Description

Altitude wine, intensely mineral, fresh with citrus notes harmonizing with subtle barrel nuances. The soul of this wine is in the unique combination of grapes from the Síria, Fonte Cal, and Rabo de Ovelha varieties, grown on very old vines planted in granite and siliceous soils with quartz veins, in the Douro river basin at an average altitude of 700 m, with partial fermentation in new French oak barrels and bâtonnage for six months. In 2011, Rui Reboredo Madeira returned to the same winery where he had his first harvest in 1987. Located in the small village of Vermiosa, in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, among the highest vineyards in Portugal, its Beira Interior wines are vinified and aged there. Thus the Beyra wine brand was born, marked by excellence and the pioneering concept of “Altitude Wines.” In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, in the Raiana zone between the Upper Douro and Upper Beira, Rui Reboredo Madeira’s family passion for the aromas and scents of the earth shaped his character. After years of experience and stays in other parts of the world, Rui brings back to his origins what he learned, launching a personal wine‑making project, always with maximum respect for nature.
