This Beyra Superior Fonte Cal certainly seems to have enjoyed a good chat with oak, doesn’t it? Hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts, it’s built for intensity, aided by a third of new American and French oak barrels. The result is a strikingly mineral wine, with a subtle smoky nuance, balanced by notes of white flowers and, of course, that vibrant citrus burst of grapefruit and lime. Remarkably structured with a persistent acidity – and one suspects, a promising future in bottle. It pairs exceptionally well with grilled fish, wouldn't you agree?
