The Quinta da Boavista has been recognized since the first demarcation of the Douro wine region in 1756. Its presence is also documented in the renowned 19th‑century maps of Joseph James Forrester. Throughout the 20th century the estate went through challenging periods, passing between several owners who brought their knowledge and experience to the production of Boavista wines. Located in the Cima‑Corgo sub‑region, near Pinhão on the right bank of the Douro and boasting one of the best river views, the Quinta da Boavista spans 36 hectares of high‑quality vines, some of which are old‑vine plantings of native varieties. In 2020 the estate was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, one of the largest wine groups in the Douro, and it continues to grow in national and international success. (illustrative image)
