This Pelagrilli 2019 is already impressively open and enjoyable, surpassing the Vecchie Vigne from Pacenti of the same vintage. The nose is rich and enveloping, displaying dark cherry, herbaceous notes, and youthful leather. On the palate, it’s powerfully structured and impeccably balanced, with the oak remarkably well-integrated. A captivating extract sweetness lingers, reminiscent of the Tenuta Nuova di Casanova di Neri, and it’s a beautiful Sangiovese from a near-perfect harvest.
