Description

In the early 19th century a new chapter of Portuguese wine was born with the launch of a wine that would become an icon, highly coveted yet deliberately kept off the limelight. Its creator, Alexandre de Almeida, brought together luxury hospitality, a cellar and a proprietary wine, giving rise to the rare, historic Buçaco wines produced at the beautiful Bussaco Palace in the hills north of Coimbra. These wines reject modernist trends, boasting a tremendous ageing potential that lets them remain in the bottle for decades.
