Description

At the beginning of the 19th century, one of the most intriguing chapters of Portuguese wine was born with the launch of a wine that would become an icon, coveted, yet deliberately kept out of the spotlight. Its creator, Alexandre de Almeida, blended the concept of luxury hoteliering, a cellar, and a proprietary wine, thereby producing the rare and historic Buçaco wines at the beautiful Palace of Bussaco in the mountains north of Coimbra. These wines have eschewed modernist trends and boast an enormous aging potential, remaining in the bottle for decades.
