In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they distinguished themselves by the rigor and expertise they devoted to Port wine, elevating the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be considered a harvest specialist, with magnificent vintages at its disposal that it releases regularly. Yet its Vintage Ports are of excellent quality, showcasing their splendor in exceptional vintages. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalise brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image presented.
