In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they distinguished themselves through the rigor and expertise they devoted to Port, elevating the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be seen as a specialist in harvests, offering magnificent vintages that it regularly releases. Their Vintage Ports, however, are of excellent quality, shining in the finest years. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to perpetuate brands founded five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
