In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the trade of cereals. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they distinguished themselves for the rigor and knowledge they devoted to Port Wine, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be considered an expert in harvests, boasting magnificent harvests that they regularly release. Yet their Vintage Ports remain of excellent quality, showcasing their splendor in great vintages. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalise brands created five centuries ago.
