“With age, the Burro Velho Reserva Tejo develops a truly mythical quality. This wine seems to have absorbed the traditions of the Tejo region, with Dão and Travadouro grapes lending it a complexity hinting at deep roots in the soil. The ripe fruit and smooth tannins – hallmarks of the varietal – reveal a surprisingly elegant character, perhaps reminiscent of a fine mountain cheese. A silver medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards confirms the skill of this producer. Wonderful with roasted pork.”
