This Bairrada Centenário is a seriously impressive wine – the colour alone, reminiscent of a Cape Roca sunset, hints at the intensity to come. Initially, it unfolds with a nose full of coastal influences: thyme, salty vegetation, and a touch of oak from its barrel aging. On the palate, the Bical and Baga grapes deliver a wonderfully firm structure, beautifully balanced by the elegance of the Fernão Pires. There's even a subtle graphite note adding complexity, and a lovely lingering balsamic finish. Seriously, this would be fantastic with grilled fish and a squeeze of lemon rice – a classic pairing, elevated.
