Founded in 1859 by António Alves Cálem, Porto Cálem remained within the same family for four generations and has always given great attention to producing quality Port wines, earning worldwide recognition. With its famous range of “Velhotes” Port, launched in 1934, it achieved national prominence, becoming Portugal’s number‑one sales brand with more than 3 million bottles sold each year. Today, Cálem is part of the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalise brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image shown. (illustrative photo)
