Founded in 1859 by António Alves Cálem, Porto Cálem remained in the same family for four generations and always placed great emphasis on producing quality Port wines, earning recognition from the wine world as a whole. With its famous "Velhotes" range of Port, launched in 1934, the brand achieved national prominence, becoming the number one selling brand in Portugal, with more than 3 million bottles sold every year.
