This Bical from the Campolargo family certainly seems to have had a fascinating journey before reaching our glass. Following a period of decanting, the fermentation – incorporating both oak and stainless steel – has gifted it with a remarkably bold character. The result is a brilliant wine, hinting at Champagne notes, but firmly rooted in the Bical grape. It finishes with delicious echoes of toasted and dried fruit, a testament to generations of family winemaking and a clear respect for the vine, seemingly aided by gravity – all without the use of additives. Wonderful with delicate fish or seafood.
