A family that has dedicated itself to viticulture and winemaking for several generations. Today they cultivate one hundred and seventy hectares across two estates in central Portugal: Quinta de São Mateus and Quinta de Vale de Azar. In February 2004 they began building a new winery at Quinta de S. Mateus, which was completed in December 2005. There, wines are crafted with a philosophy of maximum respect for the grapes, relying almost exclusively on gravity throughout the vinification process and avoiding any winemaking additives.
