A family that has devoted several generations to vine cultivation and winemaking. They currently manage 170 hectares across two estates in central Portugal: Quinta de São Mateus and Quinta de Vale de Azar. In February 2004 they began building a new cellar on the Quinta de São Mateus, which was completed in December 2005. There, wines are produced under a concept that gives maximum respect to the grapes, using almost exclusively gravity throughout the winemaking process and excluding any winemaking additives.
