A family that, for several generations, has devoted itself to vine cultivation and wine production. Today they manage 170 hectares across two estates in central Portugal: Quinta de São Mateus and Quinta de Vale de Azar. In February 2004 they began constructing a new winery on the Quinta de São Mateus property, which was completed in December 2005. In that cellar, wines are produced with a philosophy of maximum respect for the grapes, using gravity alone throughout the vinification process and excluding any wine additives.
