Description

The Canhotos Sublime Alvarinho Brut sparkling wine is made exclusively from Alvarinho grapes, a variety that highlights its freshness and varietal identity. It displays a pale yellow colour with fine, persistent, and elegant bubbles. Aromatically, the typical citrus fruit of the variety stands out, accompanied by subtle toasted nuances and a hint of dried fruit. On the palate it is fresh and indulgent, with excellent balance, good persistence, and a complexity that lingers at the finish. In the distant past, in the place of Canhotos, in the parish of Penso, a house was built that became known as “Casa de Canhotos” by the local population. With a favourable microclimate and an ideal location, the surrounding lands were turned into beautiful Alvarinho vineyards, and in August 2006, producer Fernando Rodrigues decided to start his own production, giving birth to the brand “Casa de Canhotos Alvarinho.” The wines produced here are made exclusively from grapes grown in their own vineyards, following rigorous selection criteria to ensure maximum quality.
