Wine produced in the Carcavelos region, with an alcohol content of 19.5%. This very old “generous” wine offers a subtle yet refined aroma, setting it apart from other generous wines. It is extremely delicate, with a light dried‑fruit note, an elegant and dry palate, and a long, soft finish. The wine was produced by the Marquis of Pombal on his estate in Oeiras. Having valued it highly, it was included in an offering to King José I at the Beijing court in 1752. The region enjoys a temperate Mediterranean climate with minimal temperature swings thanks to its proximity to the sea, producing a high‑quality, traditional fortified wine that earns the specific designation of “generous wine”.
