With quintas in the Upper Douro, around Almendra, Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira (CARM) has been linked to viticulture in the region since the late 19th century. Today, the oldest vineyard dates back to 1966, and since then new traditional grape varieties have been introduced, converted to biological production. After building the cellar, wines have been produced since 2004 that reflect a passion for the land and respect for nature, tasting of the earth, schist, slate, flowers, and wild fruit. With this new approach, they are offered as vegan wines, incorporating ethical and sustainable principles. (Illustrative image only)
