To feed his passion for wine and the Douro region where he grew up, José Carlos Monteiro Pinto decided in 1998 to establish a company dedicated to producing the nectar of the gods. He was then 30 years old and dreamed of having a project all his own. Today that dream is a reality, and the company he created bears his name, manages 22 hectares of vines, and aims to sell 300 000 bottles this year. “Only with a great passion for wine, for what it represents, combined with a tremendous capacity for sacrifice and dedication can one be successful in this field,” reveals José Carlos Monteiro Pinto.
