This “Fugitivo” from the Dão, a wine born from a spirit of seeking refuge since 1937, is a charming tribute to enologist Eugène Hellis – clearly he found the perfect spot in Portugal. It’s a playful nod to time, but with the serious dedication you’d expect from a wine frequently blending Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. A truly evocative wine, echoing the greats of the past, ideally paired with grilled fish, perhaps eel, to balance its sweetness and intensity.
