In the distant past, in the hamlet of Canhotos within the parish of Penso, a house was built that became known locally as the “Casa de Canhotos.” Benefiting from a favourable microclimate and an ideal location, the surrounding land was turned into beautiful Alvarinho vineyards. In August 2006, producer Fernando Rodrigues decided to start his own production, giving rise to the “Casa de Canhotos Alvarinho” brand. The wines produced here are made exclusively from grapes grown in their own vineyards, following rigorous selection criteria to ensure maximum quality. (illustrative image)
