According to its age, the wines may show marks left by time, such as traces of dust on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels, something common in wines that have spent decades stored. The National Winery is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We generally select brands/regions that usually perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time and even within a bottle its aromas are subject to different evolutions. Therefore, the National Winery cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given that it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it air out beforehand, as this will help release the natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines.
