Founded in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas and later continued by Germana Freitas and Ermelinda Freitas, the house has always devoted special attention to wine. From its very first generation, the winery has focused on the quality of its vineyards and wines, which were initially produced and sold in bulk without a proprietary label. It was with the current management that a major shift took place, establishing its own brands, and in 1997 a new cycle began with the first wine produced and bottled by Casa Ermelinda Freitas.
