Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision anchored in the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of the brands, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills its founding goal: to be a family‑owned, internationally‑oriented company focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company manages roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines have long been synonymous with time and artistry. Since its 18th‑century founding by Bernardo Ferreira, the label has been refined by successive generations—most notably his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by locals. Despite being widowed twice, Dona Antónia steered the family business with admirable resilience, her entrepreneurial spirit guiding her to anticipate, decide, create, teach, and love, cementing her as a charismatic and visionary figure.
