Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, under a long‑term vision focused on the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of its brands, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, the company increasingly fulfils the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally‑oriented enterprise dedicated to producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands on a global level. Sogrape Vinhos owns about 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art, a legacy that began in the 18th century under Bernardo Ferreira and was refined by his descendants, particularly his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, who earned the affectionate nicknames “Ferreirinha” and “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” among locals. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership – who, after two widowhoods, steered the company – the Ferreirinha legacy solidified admirably, as her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to anticipate, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a figure of great presence and charisma.
