Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of the brands, and the presentation of its products. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run company with an international focus, dedicated to producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company owns around 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. This has been the case since its founding in the eighteenth century by Bernardo Ferreira, who refined the formula through his descendants, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her region. Under Dona Antónia’s hands—who twice became a widow and still led a major enterprise—the Ferreira family rose to admirable prominence. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to anticipate, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a figure of great vision and charisma. (illustrative image)
