Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision based on the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of its brands, and the presentation of its products. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally focused company, dedicated to producing quality wines, innovating, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. Sogrape Vinhos owns around 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. This has been true since its founding in the 18th century by Bernardo Ferreira, whose refined formula was carried on by his descendants, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her region. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership—who, after being widowed twice, took the helm of a large enterprise—Ferreira solidified her business in an admirable way. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to anticipate, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a figure of great prominence and charisma.
