Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of showcasing Portuguese wines to the world, based on a long‑term vision that emphasises the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of its brands, and the presentation of its products. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfils its original goal: to be a family‑run, internationally focused company that concentrates on producing quality wines, innovating, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company owns about 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. Since its establishment in the 18th century by Bernardo Ferreira, the formula has been refined by his descendants, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, who affectionately became known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” among the people of her homeland. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership—who, after becoming a widow twice, steered a large enterprise—Ferreira achieved admirable consolidation.
