Casa Santos Lima, headquartered in the municipality of Alenquer, was founded in 1991 to continue the family’s viticultural activity that began at the end of the 19th century under Joaquim Santos Lima, who at the time was one of Portugal’s largest wine producers and exporters. In 1996 the company began bottling its wines, having previously sold them in bulk. Today, with more than 200 hectares of vineyards, Casa Santos Lima is the leading producer in the Lisbon region, representing over 30 % of the region’s certified wine. With a strong focus on internationalisation, Casa Santos Lima – one of the biggest catalysts of wine export – sends more than 90 % of the wines it sells to roughly 40 markets.
