Castello D’Alba Reserva Branco 2024 is a DOC white wine from Portugal’s Douro, produced by Rui Roboredo Madeira from the native grape varieties Rabigato, Viosinho and Códega do Larinho, grown on the high terraces of the Upper Douro. In the glass it shows a clear citrine hue and a complex aromatic profile, with mineral notes balanced by tropical and citrus fruit, field white flowers, and subtle hints of toasted oak from partial barrel fermentation. On the palate it is enveloping and creamy, with an elegant body, vibrant freshness, and a good mouthfeel, culminating in a long, harmonious finish. The combination of lively acidity, fresh fruit, and a touch of wood gives the wine depth and balance. It pairs beautifully with roasted fish, shellfish, soft cheeses, and aromatic or spiced dishes such as shrimp curry.
