Old wine bottles may show traces of dust and damaged labels, as expected for their age. The National Cellar is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands/regions that, by default, reveal distinct characteristics in old wine tastings. However, we note that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas are subject to evolving changes. Thus, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, given that it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate first, which will help release its natural aromas after so many years sealed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, do so patiently to detect the sediment that an old wine tends to develop. (illustrative image)
