Since 1937, Caves do Solar de São Domingos has produced sparkling wines, aged brandies, bagasse spirits, and Bairrada and Dão wines. Its galleries hold more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, tens of thousands of bottled wines, and hundreds of French oak vats for its renowned wine brandies. The “São Domingos” bagasse spirit, made in its own stills, continues to lead the market with its enduring quality. In 2006 a modern winemaking centre was opened, capable of receiving a thousand tonnes of grapes from the company’s own estates and from partner growers. Continuous innovation in production and vinification has raised the quality and prestige of the house wines, reinforcing São Domingos’ brand competitiveness. Enotourism is also a winning bet, dazzling thousands of visitors each year with the beauty of rock‑cut galleries, millions of bottles, a showroom, salon, and museum with a tasting room—an integral part of the Bairrada Route.
