This Touriga Nacional from Caves Velhas is clearly a wine that’s had a serious chat with the Dão’s soil – a remarkably contemplative wine. It boasts a powerful structure and concentration typical of the variety, hinting at a patient, rewarding aging. Seriously intense, it’s best paired with a hearty slow-cooked beef, perhaps a *bo moche* from the Minho, to really bring out its complexities. A fitting tribute to tradition and terroir.
