This Cedro do Noval is a beautifully understated tribute to the Douro’s heritage, blending Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, and a surprisingly assertive Syrah. The careful fermentation and extended aging – primarily in second and third-use French oak – have crafted a wine brimming with dark plum and chocolate notes. Remarkably, a firm acidity keeps it wonderfully vibrant, culminating in a persistent, iron-tinged finish, a score of 90 from Wine Spectator duly noted. Seriously, it pairs brilliantly with rich meats and a generous pinch of spice.
