Cerro das Mouras Grande Escolha is a wine produced in years of exceptional quality. The grapes that produced this wine were selected from the best plots and subsequently in the cellar. The composition of the 2017 Cerro das Mouras Grande Escolha followed a blind tasting selection of French oak barrels. Its lot is primarily composed of Touriga Nacional, complemented by a touch of Touriga Franca, giving it a deep ruby color with great aromatic intensity. On the nose, aromas of dark fruits dominate, with elegant floral notes harmonized with balsamic and spice nuances. On the palate it reveals structure, balance, elegance and freshness, with silky tannins and good acidity, ending in a fresh, long, and persistent finish. Quinta da Veiga is located on the right bank of the Douro River in the heart of Cima-Corgo, near Ferrão, covering about 50 hectares, of which 25 are planted with native grape varieties. Its full southern exposure grants it excellent suitability for producing high‑quality wines, and it also enjoys a wide view of the Douro River and the vineyards that dominate the valley landscape. The Quinta da Veiga project began in 1986 with the planting of the first vines and is now also a tourism accommodation unit. (illustrative image only)
