Since taking the helm of Champagne Jacques Selosse in 1980, Anselme has challenged the old notions of Champagne excellence, producing wines of exceptional quality and charisma. His approach involved low yields and demanding viticulture, enabling the harvest of grapes that are not only physiologically ripe but also highly expressive. With almost 40 years of work, Anselme has profoundly reshaped Champagne’s history. In 2018 he retired, passing the Domaine Jacques Selosse to his son Guillaume, an exceptionally skilled and imaginative oenologist. The transition was seamless, as expected.
