Krug Rosé 24th Edition was produced around the 2012 harvest, a beautiful year that yielded little due to a succession of weather events. Frost, rain, storms, and a gale hit the Champagne vineyards in the winter and spring of 2012, followed by the driest growing season since 1974, resulting in a 20% reduction in grape yield. Krug was founded in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a nonconformist visionary with an uncompromising philosophy. Understanding that the true essence of Champagne is pleasure itself, his dream was to craft the finest Champagne every year, regardless of annual climatic variations. By paying attention to the character of the vineyard, respecting the individuality of each plot and its wine, he built an extensive library of reserve wines from different years, allowing Joseph Krug to produce Champagne of distinguished quality. Thus, for about six generations, this dream has been carried on and its Champagne admired. (Illustrative image only)
