Château Mouton Rothschild 2023 Label – Joana Vasconcelos For the 2023 label, Château Mouton Rothschild invited Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos to create a colorful composition centered on the grapes and the elements that give rise to the wine: earth, water, sun, cold, and human labour. The work, titled **Paraíso**, evokes the connection between nature and mankind and the richness of the château’s terroir. The artist drew on her graphic and vibrant visual language to deliver a lively interpretation of the 2023 harvest. **2023 – Climate and Harvest** After a wet late‑autumn in 2022, a mild, humid winter replenished the soil’s water reserves. Vine growth began under favourable conditions in early April, though a brief cold spell caused some damage. A gentle spring encouraged vine development, and flowering occurred under excellent conditions at the end of May—six days earlier than the average. Summer featured several intense heat spells, especially late August and early September. During the harvest, weather alternated between hot, sunny days and thunderstorms, allowing a gradual ripening that preserved freshness. The harvest concluded in the last week of September, under ideal conditions and mild temperatures. **Technical Data** - Harvest: September 7–30 - Blend: 93 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 7 % Merlot **Awards** - 100 / 100 – Jane Anson, *Inside Bordeaux* - 98–99 / 100 – Izak Litwar, *Great Wines from Bordeaux* - 98 / 100 – *Vinum* Wine Magazine - 98 / 100 – Jeff Leve, *The Wine Cellar Insider* - 98 / 100 – *Wine Enthusiast* - 98 / 100 – Adrian van Velsen, *vvWine.ch* - 98 / 100 – Tim Atkin - 97–98 / 100 – Xavier Lacombe - 97 / 100 – Jean‑Marc Quarin - 97 / 100 – Giuseppe Lauria, *Fine Wine Guide* - 97 / 100 – *CellarTracker* - 96–97 / 100 – *Wine Maniacs* - 95–97 / 100 – *The Wine Independent* - 96 / 100 – Chris Kissack, *Winedoctor* - 18 / 20 – Jancis Robinson **Allergen Information** Contains sulfites. **SKU**: 106678‑1
