Clarete Barroca da Malhada Baga is crafted from the Baga grape, hand‑picked and naturally fermented with minimal cellar intervention. It ages in stainless‑steel tanks and a second‑use Portuguese oak barrel, using chestnut flower powder as a natural preservative and antioxidant. The wine displays a translucent red hue. On the nose it offers raspberry compote, mint, and a subtle earthy character, while on the palate it is fresh, balanced, with lively red fruit, juicy texture and an authentic expression. Barroca da Malhada is an artisanal producer in the Beira Interior, rooted in a medieval estate once owned by the Viscounts of Tinalhas. With about five hectares of vines grown organically and biodynamically on granite‑derived schist‑sandy soils in one of Portugal’s most mountainous regions, the wines embody a low‑intervention ethos that prioritises authenticity, freshness and terroir expression.
