The wine of Colares is renowned for being unique in the world. Its terroir, strongly influenced by the Atlantic, produces wines with extraordinary salinity and complex aromas that evolve beautifully with bottle aging. This house was founded in 1898 by António Bernardino da Silva Chitas in Azenhas do Mar. In its early years, sales were largely focused on the Lisbon region and large-scale exports to Brazil. It was then taken over by his son, António Bernardino da Silva Chitas Júnior, and today by his grandson, António Bernardino Paulo da Silva, whose sales now concentrate not only on the domestic market but also on exporting significant volumes to various European countries and the United States.
